First Lady Melania Trump welcomed the official White House Christmas Tree on Monday before she joined her husband, President Trump, in honoring the hero dog Conan.
Melania looked stunning as she wore a floral coat by Dolce & Gabbana paired with high-heeled black boots. She joined Trump and VP Pence in celebrating Conan with a ceremony at the White House Rose Garden.
At one point, she was asked if she would adopt the Belgian Malinois for 13-year-old Barron Trump. She responded with a firm: “No.”
Conan is still on active military duty and will return to the Middle East soon.
Melania made no comments nor petted Conan during the event, which is common protocol not to pet service animals.
President Trump spoke at some length about Conan, while Vice President Mike Pence repeatedly rubbed Conan’s head.
The dog was well behaved during the official White House appearance. He did not bark or make any threatening actions, instead he sat with his tongue out and tail wagging.
Earlier on Monday, Melania welcomed the official White House Christmas Tree.
Its arrival, on a horse-drawn carriage with Christmas music playing in the background, kicks off the holiday season at the White House.
The first lady and her staff put in months of work on the decorations that will fill the public reception rooms.
